Fine Arts Programming

 FINE ARTS PROGRAMMING

At our school, students in K-2 participate in a dance program calledEdumove, in partnership with Ballet Austin, as well as dance and movement led by the talented Toni Bravo. This program provides a creative and engaging introduction to movement and expression through dance. For students in grades 2-5, we offer a "voice and choice" approach to fine arts, allowing them to select from a wide range of options, including violin, ukulele, dance, improv, tech, art in nature, and much more. This personalized approach encourages exploration and helps students discover and nurture their unique artistic passions.

Fine Arts is twice a week during the school day.

The purpose of the Fine Arts Academy is to:

  • Provide all students with the knowledge and skills necessary for cognitive, creative, emotional and social growth through sequential study, practice, and reflection.
  • Build many types of literacy while developing intuition, reasoning, imagination, and dexterity into unique forms of expression and communication.
  • Explore the influence of the arts in their power to create and reflect cultures.
  • Engage students in a process that enables them to develop the self-esteem, self-discipline, self-motivation, and cooperation necessary for success in life.
  • Develop student artists who will create, lead, inspire, and contribute to a global community, through active involvement in creating, performing, and producing.
