Dear Blackshear Family,

I am excited to be the new principal of Blackshear Elementary! In the past four years, I have had the honor of serving as your assistant principal. During this time, I have learned about the history, culture, and community of Blackshear. This rich history and dynamic environment are helping shape future global citizens.

I started my professional journey in Dallas. I graduated with a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and then went on to earn my MBA from Texas Woman’s University. During this time, I volunteered to teach math and science at the middle school I attended as a child. I found that my work with students was much more rewarding to me than crunching numbers, and decided to enter education.

I moved to Austin in 2010 where I met my partner and started my family. In this short time, Blackshear has quickly become an extension of my own family. 

The diversity on our campus allows students to see that people of different backgrounds can work together to create something beautiful. I will lead by listening to all stakeholders and making decisions that best benefit the whole child. It is my pledge to be transparent about events, activities, and future goals of the campus.

My goal is for our students to grow every day on our campus and know they have the continuous support of our staff in their future academic and creative endeavors.
